Not bad....First know that this is a hot-comb in a plastic cage.The cage helps to reduce the number of accidental burns (ears, fingers, scalp, etc.), but, it also makes it a little harder to do the best job on roots.My hair is fine but fuzzy so I used the 3rd setting, which worked very well, but it is a little harder to guide hair through the cage than through a regular hot-comb. My hair is short so I could not use this product to curl it. Not to worry, I just finish up my hairstyle with a hot curling brush real quick.The whole process takes about 10 minutes to straighten and another 10 to curl.The on/off switch is in an awkward spot and sometimes gets turned off by accident while using. I really like the shape of the handle. It is not bad to manipulate and no hot spots. I love the cord. It is thick and has not tangled. I wonder about the plug: two shiny prongs of equal size. Hopefully meets electrical safety code.2 days in and I'm very happy. It smooths my aging, greying, thinning, naturally curly hair. The longest sections of my hair are about 4 inches, and I can use this tool to curl, and add volume. .I used the 2nd lowest heat setting because high heat cooks my fragile curls.I do have years of experience using styling tools, so there wasn't much of a learning curve. The buttons are easy to hit accidentally, but I don't know where they could be placed to avoid that, so it becomes part of that learning curve.I did NOT get this free or at a discount, but I liked it anyway.I actually received this straightener a day earlier than stated. I purchased this product to use on my daughter's very course and thick shoulder length hair. I tested the straightener on her hair today and loved how straight and smooth it made it with about 2 passes on the top and bottom of the sections that I used. I would definitely purchase this again and am very pleased with this straightener after the quick test. I anticipate even better results once I wash and condition her hair and use it on her entire head.Love it, straightens hair quickly, easy to manage, and I can even curl with it.
