I have long thick hair I really love how I can put my hair up and it stays! I e never experienced this with other clips. It’s a heavy metal material but not too heavy. It’s a nice weight. My previous clip was plastic and it broke so appreciate the sturdinessI love how these look, however i can really only use one of them since my hair is extremely thickDoesn’t quite work with my hair as I expected, but I’m working with them.So I got these to try to trendy and cool. But these are STRONG metal. So I wear one in my hair, but I wanted to lay down and the clip was uncomfortable to lean on so I placed on the side of the stairs to bring up later. My 230 lbs boyfriend decided that looking were he was walking was not important and stepped on the clip. Did it break? Did it bend a single prong???? NOPE IT JUST WENT THROUGH THE SIDE OF HIS FOOT! So if you want a clip you can throw in a purse with your water bottle this is the clip for you! BUT you have to be careful where you set it because I think if I dropped it and ran it over it might pop a tire before it broke! These things are strong!! The spring to open is easy to open…(even if you have the grip strength of a toddler like me), but it has enough hold to hold all my hair back securely (probably indefinitely if I slept on my face). The gold is bright in my dark hair but not in the cheap way. And it has held up nicely not tarnishing even when I put my wet hair up. If you have a sensitive scalp they might not be for you because the metal is prongs across the back of the head could definitely be a turn off for some people.Does the jobThey are metal, covered in gold-like coating; not sure how long the paint will last. They are perfect for thick hair. They may still work on thinner hair, but they would be PERFECT for thick hair. For metal clips, they are not heavy.I have the same comment to the seller: too much unnecessary plastic packaging. I understand they want to protect the coating or whatever, but the same goal can be achieved with paper or sth less harmful (nothing, even!)They are very strong hair clips-so strong that I have to be careful digging them into my hair because it hurts when I accidentally scrap the it across my scalp. Once they are on though-they will hold everything in place. I don't have a ton of hair (I wouldn't say thick by any means), but I'm pretty sure it would work on someone with thicker hair. No pulls or snags-edges of the metal are very smooth. If I had to be picky and choose something that I would change-maybe the color of the gold? It's very bright-wish it was a little more matted and toned down. Overall, I would definitely recommend and happy with the purchase.These clips are amazing I can put my hair up and not fuss with it at all. The only down side is all the unnecessary packaging for it that’s my only criticism.Seems to be well made. Looks great. Got compliments on it. Clips are heavy but it's to be expected cuz it's not plastic or at least it's doesn't feel cheap. Holds hair well (I have thick heavy hair). As with most hair clips it's usually the spring that breaks first so let's see how long it lasts; but honestly the price is good so totally worth the buy or to just buy another set if they do break.Best clips I have tried in my long and thick hair!I have been trying a bunch of claw clip hairdos, but they were not quite working on my hair like the pin test posts I see. These grab and hold my rather annoying locks like nothing else. They are also super elegant.Only con; they might gore your scalp if you aren’t careful. But I don’t think they’d have the same hold of these clips weren’t as sharp.We will see how long these clips last without breaking.
